Unfortunately, Microsoft permanently deactivated Windows Update for Win XP and Vista computers onĠ, so even if you manage to get your clean reinstall of Vista re-activated it's going to be much more difficult now (but not impossible) to manually patch your system back to end of support (11-Apr-217). I know of a few Vista SP2 users who recently reported that this slui.exe 4 method worked - see SIW2's 0 post for one example.
